Southern Minnesota NAVHDA Training Information

Beginning in April and ending in August, we hold training days at the Etna Creek Aquatic Management Area,  south of Spring Valley, Mn. Unless otherwise noted, training begins at 8 AM with a review of the days objectives. Typically, formal training ends by noon,  but the grounds are available for the remainder of the day for those who wish to stay, with the restriction that no live ammunition can be used after 1:00 pm.  See the table below for the complete chapter training calendar.
These training opportunities are provided for members to put their dogs on live birds, work on specific skills,  prepare for  an upcoming NAVHDA test and spend time with others who can offer helpful suggestions as well as great comaraderie.   Due to insurances reason, only members can actually run their dogs at our training sessions.  However, if you are a non-member, we invite you ( and your dog ) to come and observe a training session so you may learn more about NAVHDA and all the versatile hunting breeds.  Our hope is that you will then become a member and join us in future training sessions.
Please download and review the training etiquette guidelines prior to attending your first chapter training day.  These guidelines will help ensure everyone's safety and fun.
